Tahirul Qadri’s arrest orders issued in Punjab

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Friday ordered police to arrest Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir Ul Qadri, local media reported.

According to reports, the orders sparked protests against Punjab Police by outraged PTA workers in Lahore ‘s Model Town.

The provincial government also requested the federal authorities to add Qadri in Exit Control List (ECL).

PAT leader Rahiq Abbasi told media that the party workers will not allow attempts to put Qadri under house arrest.

Qadri had announced that they will hold a ‘Martyrs’ Day’ on Aug 10 in order to protest against killings of PAT workers at Model Town.
