Pakistan PM decides to observe ‘Palestine Day’ on August 17

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to observe ‘Palestine Day’ on August 17 after holding significant meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq.


PM Nawaz Sharif held an important meeting with Siraj-ul-Haq on Wednesday (today) amid severe political situation of the country.

During the meeting, Pakistani premier praised the reconciliation efforts of the JI chief in the hot political seasons in the country due to series of anti-government protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) with their allies.

Nawaz Sharif hailed stance of JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq, whose politico-religious party announced a country-wide protests on August 17, to show solidarity with the Palestinians facing brutal attacks from Israeli forces in Gaza.

JI senior leaders, Liaquat Baloch and Mian Aslam, were also present in the high-level meeting with PM Nawaz Sharif.
