Eid-2014 likely to be celebrated on July 28 in USA

WASHINGTON: The Eid-al-Adha is likely to be celebrated on Monday, July 28, the same day when the event is likely to be held in Saudi Arabia.

The Fiqh Council of North America says in its statement that Muslims in North America including United States, Canada and other parts will celebrate on July 28.

“The Fiqh Council of North America celebrates Eid al-Adha a day after the Wuquf of Arafah due to several Sharai’ reasons,” the statement stated.

“Therefore the FCNA follows the movements of Hujjaj and celebrates Eid al-Adha a day after the official Wuquf of Arafah. Hence our final Eid al-Adha date will coincide with the Saudi Eid announcement.”
