Tahir-ul-Qadri wants to dig collective grave of nation: Sanaullah

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that no decision was taken on the government level for launching police operation in the model town.

He said that the surrounding area of Tahreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Secretariat was made ‘no go area’, saying that Tahirul Qadri has been determined to dig collective grave for the nation.

He said that Tahirul Qadri should get the mandate of the people to impose his own agenda, saying that no one will be allowed to impose his own agenda by force without the public mandate.

Talking to media persons outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore on Wednesday, has categorically denied allegation that any kind of operation was planned against the Tahreek-e-Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Lahore on Tuesday. He said that no one will be allowed to impose his own agenda by force without the public mandate.

Rana Sanaullah said that action was only taken to remove illegal encroachments on the requests of local people. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the incident, he said action will be taken against the responsible persons.

He said that government is ready to provide security to Tahirul Qadri to his home but he will not be allowed to stage rally to put lives of thousands of people in danger.

Rana Sanaullah said that a man named ‘Gullu Butt’ has been arrested and the police officers who accepted the leadership of ‘Gullu Butt’ will be answerable, saying that the accused will be nominated in the case in the light of the investigations of the judicial commission.

He said that Tahirul Qadri himself is afraid of being buried in grave and is advising not to be buried after death but he is ready to dig collective grave for the nation.

Rana Sanaullah said that Tahirul Qadri should accept the constitution and democratic system of the country, saying that journalists, political workers, political parties, political leaderships, lawyers and civil society have made innumerable sacrifices fro restoration of constitution and democracy.

He said that Tahirul Qadri should get the mandate of the people by following constitution if he wants to bring change and impose his own agenda.

He said that no party will be allowed to impose its own agenda by force. He said that no provocative statement was given by the government, saying that the case has been registered and the judicial commission will make decision in this regard.

He said that no one will be allowed to make ‘no go area’ in the Punjab. He said that the judges are not subordinate to the government, saying that the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif requested that inquiry report should be received in a week.
