SC adjourns Geo petition to combine all cases till 25th June

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan heard a petition seeking to combine all cases against Geo on Wednesday.

Counsel for Geo Television Barrister Akram Sheikh maintained that there are over 45 FIR’s registered against his clients across the country and they should all be combined.

The three member apex court bench headed by Justice Jawad S. Khawaja instructed the Advocate Generals of all four high courts to submit a detailed reply over the matter and has adjourned the hearing till the 25th of June.

Justice Jawwad Khawaja while addressing Akaram Sheikh said why he should not approach the respective high courts as it looks provincial matter. The court conducted short hearing of the case. The court said one honorable judge has to go to Karachi so the hearing is adjourned.

Akram Skeikh in his arguments said when the court will hear his arguments he will tell why this matter did not be brought before the high courts. Akram Sheikh said 45 FIRs have been registered against his client, adding that all the complaints should be clubbed. Akram Sheikh said all advocate generals are present in court the court should direct them to submit detailed reply regarding the matter.

The court while directing the advocate generals to submit detailed reply regarding the matter adjourned the further hearing till 25th June.
