PESHAWAR: At least eight persons were killed and six others received serious injuries on Tuesday following an explosion occurred via landmine in the Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region.
The violent incident took place in Khomta area of the agency when a passenger-laden vehicle hit a landmine planted on the road, Dawn News reported.
According to reports, the travelers were moving towards Parachinar area from central Kurram agency while the vehicle was completely destroyed in the explosion.
The injured persons were shifted to Agency Head Quarters Hospital by the rescue teams while the identification of the persons is unknown.
Responsibility of the attack has not been claimed by any group till yet, however, law enforcement agencies tightened the security measures in the area.
