KARACHI: Tension spread in many cities of Sindh province including Karachi just after revelation of reports regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s detainment by Scotland Yard in London on Tuesday.
Outrageous crowd blazed numerous vechiles and public assets in different cities of Sindh which created stampede situation amongst the locals.
At least eight public vehicles were set ablaze by angered persons in different areas of Karachi including Korangi, Aisha Manzil and Abul Hasan Asphani road.
Three cars torched at Korangi area while a truck near Drig Road Station situated at Shahrah-e-Faisal Karachi.
Central trade centers, shops, petrol pumps and offices went close after the emergence of reports about Hussain’s arrestment, whereas, all educational institutions in the metropolis cancelled examination papers scheduled today.
Worst traffic jam was seen across the metropolis as numerous citizens are trying to reach home.
The major areas affected by uncertain situation following the Altaf Hussain’s arrest reports include Korangi, Site, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Nagan Chawrangi, Abul Hasan Asphani and Korangi’s Vita Chawrangi.
Moreover, some unorganised protests were starged in different cities of Sindh including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas, Tando Muhammad Khan and Nawabshah. Meanwhile, MQM workers staged sit-in on Indus National Highway near Larkana which created worst traffic jam.
MQM activists in large numbers are now gathered at 90 headquarter situated in Karachi, whereas, the leadership of the political party announced protests on Numaish Chaurangi.
