KARACHI: Senior PPP leader Senator Mian Raza Rabbani has said that his party has proposed 13 amendments in the much-criticized Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO).
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Senator Rabbani said under the proposed amendments, a judicial commission will be set up to probe any incident. The detainees will be produced before courts within 24 hours.
The PPP leader said human rights have been given due consideration in the new draft and forces’ power to open firing has also been curtailed.
He made it clear that the opposition party would not accept the PPO in its current state.
