ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar taking strong notice of the incident that took place at the Parliament House on Friday and directed for immediate suspension and charge-sheeting for one SP, three DSPs and three SHOs, who were held responsible for the security lapse.
The Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan presided a high-level meeting of Islamabad Administration and Police to review security situation in the Capital in Islamabad on Friday.
The Minister instructed that Rapid Response Force consisting of Islamabad and Rawalpindi police will work round the clock.
In the meeting officials of Islamabad administration informed the Minister that district administration and police allowed the Sikhs under a negotiated understanding to hold a protest demonstration in front of the Islamabad Press Club.
However, at the last moment, seeing the focus of Islamabad police on the PTI rally, the Sikh rally totally violated that understanding and started running towards the Parliament.
Chairman NADRA Imtiaz Tajwar briefed the Minister that working on a Command Center under the Safe City Project would start next month and it will be completed with in four month.
Earlier, Chairman NADRA gave presentation in detail on biometric based SIM verification, on the occasion the minister said biometric based SIM verification will provide better technological support to law enforcement agencies.
The minister said nobody will be able to buy a new SIM without going through biometric verification process.
Chaudhry Nisar also asked NADRA and the cellular companies to sort out a mechanism for checking unverified SIMs in the country.
