KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain Sunday asked MQM Coordination Committee members to cancel protest demonstrations planned over the non-issuance of his National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
The MQM chief said that government of Pakistan assured that his NICOP and passport would be issued soon.
On this direction from their party chief, MQM has cancelled their scheduled protest in front of Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and outside Pakistani high commission in London.
The MQM chief these days is not in good health and in an interview with a private TV channel yesterday, he expressed his wish to come back to Pakistan and die in his motherland adding that he would soon deliver his last speech to the nation.
