MULTAN: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that government will not allow power theft anywhere in the country.
The Minister was talking to media in a press conference in Multan.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed to take every action to stop power theft.
He said accountability have been continued in whole country regarding electricity theft, adding that the government wanted to throw out black sheep’s from the government institutions to make them corruption free.
The minister said when the government fired corrupt officials from power institutions they took stay orders from the courts.
Abid Sher Ali said the officers who will perform better, the government will give bonus to them and those who would make hindrances in the power institutions they will face punishments.
He said as many as 25 feeders of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) are on high losses. 14 to 16 hours load shedding will be carried out on the feeders.
The minister said the government tried not to exceed load shedding in urban areas more than 8 hours.
The minister informed that the Ministry have approved third party audit which were approved by Federal Minister of the ministry, Khwaja Asif yesterday.
