ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Ministry on Monday said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain would get Pakistani passport after the formal procedure as all overseas Pakistanis get it.
The ministry further advised exiled MQM chief to file an application in London High Commission for the purpose, he will be issued passport after biometric reception and reception of photos.
Altaf Hussain’s Anger
Earlier MQM chief Altaf Hussain has expressed sorrow over the statements of Additional Secretary Interior and Director General Passport that they had not received his application for Pakistani Passport and Identity Card.
Hussain further said that he filled his form and NADRA staff took his finger prints, photos and fee as well as documents required for the process.
Altaf Hussain also mentioned his token number and tracking ID in his statement and said Shamsul Hassan was witness to the whole process.
Hussain demanded of the authorities to inform him as to when his passport and ID card would be prepared.
MQM Rabita Committee’s statement
MQM Rabita ( co-ordination) committee warned that its workers will do a nationwide  protest if their chief’s basic right of owning a Pakistani National Identity Card (N.I.C) and passport is not accepted.
