LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Siraj Ul Haq said on Sunday that his party wants to fight the handful of elite in the country and end VIP culture.
The JI chief was talking to reception given by Punjab chapter of his party over his assumption of charge as the religious party chief.
He said Election Commission is weak and secret forces can change results of the election and those who have come to power would have been in prison in a fair and just system.
He said they wanted to ask Prime Minister what happened to promise of provision of free education adding that more than five million children of the country do not go to school.
JI chief expressed his wish to see a poor man’s son as member of national assembly and senate.
He said the people who kept on getting votes in the promise of food, cloth and shelter in Sindh deceived people of the province and just when people were dying of hunger in Tharparkar, billions were wasted in the name of culture.
Sirajul Haq said that the forces who want to take the country away from the path of development will not be successful.
