NOWSHERA: Prominent intermediator in ongoing peace talks between Pakistan government and Taliban, Sami-ul-Haq, held an important meeting with dissociated government-led committee member Major (retd) Amir on Thursday (today).
Sami-ul-Haq and Major (r) Amir expressed willingness for taking forward the peace efforts in order to get a fruitful end.
The meeting is being considered most important in its genre as a leading member Sami ul Haq discussed various aspects of dialogues with government-led committee member Major (r) Amir, who had dissociated himself from the process over having severe differences.
Both personalities met in Nowshera located in the Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhunkhwa (KPK) province, local media reported.
Sami-ul-Haq told local media that the Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharif is serious in continuation of talks, however, everyone should be aware about elements creating barriers in peace efforts.
He admitted that the dialogue sessions are standing at a freezing point at the moment and have not reached to an ending point.
However, Sami-ul-Haq expressed hopefulness of positive results as they are trying to end interruption in the negotiations.
During the event, Sami-ul-Haq clarified his position on behalf of intermediation committee; said that they are neither agents of Taliban or government nor playing any fawning role.
