KARACHI: According to various reports, World Health Organisation (WHO) might present the guidelines to tackle polio in the world today.
The reports showed concerns that Pakistan may face travel restriction in the light of new guidelines by WHO.
The final decision will be taken today by the international organisation.
WHO has already shared its concerns over the alarming situation of polio in Pakistan in this year’s first four months.
Experts have discussed various options in four-day long Geneva Convention organised by WHO.
According to the conclusion of the Geneva convention, polio virus is now spreading again in those countries where it had been eliminated and measures need to be taken to limit this virus.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Ministry of Health has established an inter-provincial committee to handle the situation of polio. And anti-polio campaign has been intensified at airports.
According to Health Ministry, there would a special polio campaign for Pakistani travelling abroad.
