ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for water and power, Abid Sher AliĀ informed media on Monday that work is underway to set up 6600 MW power plants in Gadani, while 2400 MW of electricity would be added to current system by the end of this year.
Abid said that PM Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of ongoing loadshedding across the country, and has ordered to reduce the same.
He claimed that his government inherited loadshedding problem from previous government, and entire country faced8 to 10 hours of daily power outage.
The minister further said that PM Nawaz Sharif would inaugurate 1320 MW coal based power plant at Port Qasim, Karachi, tomorrow. –
