KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Asad Umar said on Sunday that his party had criticized Geo Television but did not demand ban on the channel.
Asad Umar said that PTI believes in freedom of expression as it is an independent party and we do not take dictation from Jeddah, Aabpara or Washington, dispelling an old accusation that his party takes dictation from Intelligence agencies.
Speaking on Pakistan’s JAAG TV, the PTI leader said that we have no intention of derailing democracy, if such a threat occurs, we will be with the democratic setup.
It must be remembered that PTI chief Imran Khan has asked all his party members to boycott Geo/Jang group and has accused the media house of facilitating rigging in 11 May 2013 elections.
