ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and member of national assembly, Imran Khan, heavily criticised elements empowering ‘anti-democratic policies’ in the country; announces boycott against Geo, Jang groups.
Imran Khan was addressing a media conference in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan, on Friday; claiming its address ‘most important press meeting for Pakistan’.
The PTI chief placed severe allegations on the news groups, Geo and Jang, during his press meeting including involvement in vote rigging in support of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and supportive motives for anti-democratic forces in the country.
Khan claimed that Geo and Jang groups collected many rewards and benefits from the ruling political party PML-N after provision of support in vote rigging.
Khan also presented evidences regarding foreign funding to Jang and Geo groups; claiming it to be used for weakening democracy in Pakistan.
He said that no PTI representative will attend any programme organised by Jang and Geo groups till its formal apology.
While slamming the vote rigging elements activited during May 11 general elections in Pakistan, Imran Khan alleged that returning officers changed whole election policy in 24 hours after Nawaz Sharif’s address broadcasted at 11:00pm; in which he demanded for clear majority across Pakistan.
Imran Khan demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto action over the issue; and pronounce strict punishments for the vote rigging criminals.
While revealing some vote rigging evidences included in PTI’s white paper, Khan said that 8,166 votes were present in ballot boxes in Sargodha’s NA-68 constituency where registered polling stations were 246 and voters were 1,530.
He said that his political party would announce strategy in Islamabad on May 11.
