ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday has ordered Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) to cut the electricity of all the defaulters include supply of President House.
According to reports, the Minister also directed IESCO to disconnect the electricity supply of Parliament lodges, Sindh House, Balochistan House, National Database Registration Authority, Motorway police and the Capital Development Authority.
IESCO also received the same order for Frontier Works Organisation, Petroleum Commission, Public Works Department, TMO Muree, TMO Rawalpindi and the environment office.
In a press conference, Ali said that individuals or institutions who have not paid their bill will not receive electricity.
A campaign has been launched against electricity theft, he informed.
He has also suggested Prime Nawaz Sharif that 1000 megawatts of electricity can be saved if markets are shut down at 8pm.
He said that Sindh has to pay Rs. 56 billion, Azad Kashmir to pay Rs. 33 billion, Punjab owed Rs. 4 billion whereas KPK’s dues are Rs.2 billion.
