NEW YORK: Pakistan has urged the world community for prevention and settlement of disputes as initiative to eliminate conflict-related violence posing a threat to international peace and security, Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khan said in the United Nations Security Council.
The Pakistan ambassador highlighted that violence against women has increased in certain parts of the world and stressed the UN security Council to continue to address such acts and post-conflict situations.
The ambassador said the best way to end violence is to prevent and the solve conflicts and focus the issues of governance, rule of law and economic development.
 UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative Zainab Hawa Bangura, in a report to the Council,stressed the need for justice and assistance for all victims, regardless of gender.
