Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday decreased power tariff by Rs. 1 per unit due to depreciated value of dollar.
Central Power Purchasing Agency had filed a petition to NEPRA for cut in power price by Rs.1 per unit for hearing.
They added that it would provide a sigh of relief to overburdened power consumers of the country.
The decrease in the power tariff will be applicable from May 1Â which will be carried out in monthly fuel adjustment charges.
According to reports, power generation in the country has been increased and this has been another reason behind the decrease of tariff.
