ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said the government would soon make a mechanism to decrease prices of essential commodities at appropriate level.
Ishaq Dar has reviewed the prices of agricultural products in the country in a meeting held in Islamabad, RadioPakistan reported.
The minister has taken serious notice of the manipulated prices of potato at fifty rupee per kilo in the local market.
Dar warned that if the prices of the commodities were not come to normal level in three days, the government will lift all taxes and levies on its import to bring its prices to less than 30 rupees a kilo.
Ishaq Dar said profiteers will not be allowed to manipulate excess margins by holding supplies to the market.
