New Delhi: The former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chairman N. Srinivasan restoring appeal has been rejected by the Indian Supreme Court (SC) here on Wednesday in New Delhi.
Srinivasan had appealed to Indian Supreme Court to be reinstated as BCCI head.
Court said that Sundar Raman can continue as the Chief Operating Officer of the Indian Premier League (IPL 7) while Sunil Gavaskar will continue his duty as interim chairman of BCCI.
The Twenty20 league, IPL 7 is starting in the Abu Dhabi on Wednesday where Mumbai and Kolkata will play first match of the event.
The Supreme Court said Srinivasan is among 13 named in the probe report. It has asked the BCCI to respond how it will conduct a probe into the allegations. “We cannot close our eyes after having come to know about the allegations,” the two-judge bench said.
The bench also agreed to hear BCCI’s plea seeking tapes of conversation between Mudgal committee Srinivasan and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
