ISLAMABAD: National speakers’ conference has passed the resolution to issue blue passports to members of parliament.
However, the demand of increase in salaries and facilities were turned down by national assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
Ayaz will issue a formal notification at the end of 17th national speakers’ conference today.
He also announced a cricket team of parliament members for a match against parliament reporters association.
The Speakers reviewed decisions taken in 16th Speakers Conference and discussed issues regarding legislation, working of committees and other administrative matters and also encouraged healthy Parliamentary traditions in Pakistan
The 17th national speakers’ conference was attended by Chairman and Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Speakers and Deputy Speakers of Provincial Assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Speakers of Legislative Assemblies of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
