Islamabad: The Ministry of Water and Power has finally taken a decision to cut electricity supply to all the areas where power theft is more than 85 percent.
In this regard, Abid Sher Ali, the state minister, has ordered the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to suspend supply of electricity to 10 feeders of the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KPK).
Abid Sher Ali said that the electricity thieves would be deprived of their transformers and non-payers would also not get the supply.
Earlier on April 9, the minister for water and power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that electricity supply to those who did not pay bills and those involved in electricity theft would be cut this summer.
He further said that the government will only supply electricity to those who were paying bills.
