ISLAMABAD: Acting inspector general Khalid Khattak has said that police cannot check every truck that enters the fruit market of Islamabad, media reported Wednesday.
Acting IG explained that hundreds of trucks and vehicles enter and leave the Islamabad’s fruit market throughout the day so it is almost impossible for police or security officials to check each and every one.
He added, ‘police officials are always deployed in the market’.
Acting IG was talking to media about the bomb blast in Islamabad fruit market that has left 23 dead and several injured.
According to initial investigation, 4 to 5 kg of explosives was used in the blast.
There is no evidence of suicide bomb blast at the site so it can be concluded that bomb was used with some device, acting IG revealed.
He also clarified that there was no intelligence information about today’s blast.
