ISLAMABAD: Former president Pervez Musharraf, who is indicted in a treason case, will now be shifted to a hospital in Karachi for treatment.
Security has been beefed up around Pakistan Navy Shifa (PNS) Hospital, where Musharraf will be treated.
Musharraf is currently at his Chak Shehzad farmhouse in Islamabad, where he is under-treatment. Prior to it, he was admitted at Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) amid high-security.
A medical board had also been constituted for the treatment of Musharraf.
Sources told Musharraf was facing grave threats in Islamabad and Rawalpindi that is why he had chosen Karachi for his treatment.
Musharraf is facing a treason case for imposing November 2013 emergency rule in Pakistan and has many times escaped court citing medical reasons.
