ISLAMABAD: Twenty million dollars have been approved by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for Jamshoro coal power plant.
The decision was made in a board of directors meeting of IDB in Jeddah.
Another nine hundred million dollars have already been approved by the Asian Development Bank.
The project is expected to produce 600 megawatts electricity after completion.
In another development, the World Bank is all set to donate five hundred and twenty million dollars for electricity production to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
IDB and USAID have taken the responsibility to all remaining expenses of this project.
Under the terms and conditions of this project, 1300 megawatts electricity will be produced.
1000 megawatts will be utilized by Pakistan while 300 megawatts electricity will be transferred to Afghanistan.
1270 km long transmission line will also be laid between Pakistan and Afghanistan for this purpose.
The complete cost of this project will be around one billion dollars
