LAHORE: Election tribunal on Wednesday as declared the election null and void as rigging has been proved on the Punjab assembly seat PP-136 Narowal.
On May 11, 2013 Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML N) candidate Colonel (retd) Shujah Ahmed Khan had won the election on the seat with 47, 475 votes, whereas, independent candidate Muhammad Wakeel khan Manj was the runner up with 31, 423 votes.
Wakeel Khan Manj accused the rigging in the election and filled the petition in election tribunal.
During the hearing it has been proved that paper and counter files were missing from the record and election declared nullified.
Election tribunal directed the election commission to carry out new election on the seat.
