CHITTAGONG: Minnows Netherlands were easily beaten by Sri Lanka after they scored a record low 39 runs in an ICC World Twenty 20 match here at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Sent into bat by Sri Lanka, Dutch batsmen could not resist against the accurate bowling and were bundled out for 39 in 10.3 overs.
Tom Cooper was the only batsmen to enter into double figures; he scored 16 runs off 18 balls, while four Dutch batsmen could not even get off the mark.
The previous lowest total was 56 made by Kenya against Afghanistan in 2013.
Ajantha Mendis and Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews took three wickets each, for 12 and 16 runs respectively.
Angelo Mathews was given ‘Man of the Match’ award.
