ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday has arrived at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s residential place at Bani Gala and a meeting is underway regarding ongoing dialogue process with Taliban.
PM Nawaz Sharif has paid a surprise visit to Imran Khan’s home located in Bani Gala, located in Islamabad at the eastern bank of Rawal Lake, via road without having any security arrangements, reports said.
During the unannounced meeting, Pakistan PM would take PTI’s chief Imran Khan into confidence over upcoming moves of the federal government in the negotiation process with militants.
The PTI chief and lawmaker, Imran Khan, will welcome the ‘high-level guests’ along with some prominent leaders of his political party include Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and Jehangir Tareen.
In the visit, the Pakistani premier is accompanied with high-level government officials including Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, government-led committee member Irfan Siddiqui and PM’s political secretary Dr. Asif Kirmani, sources said.
Sources revealed that the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar drove the vehicle along with the Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharif.
It should be mentioned that Imran Khan conducted a significantly important press conference on March 12; stated that the Pakistani nation would stand up against all evils in case of failure of ongoing negotiations.
Meeting details:
The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that it is our collectively responsibility to eliminate all kinds of terrorism and restore peace in the country.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Special Assistant Irfan Siddiqui and his Political Secretary Dr. Asif Kirmani.
The two leaders agreed to continue the dialogue process for restoration of peace.
Mian Nawaz Sharif emphasised that there should be total harmony among nation and the political leadership for the purpose. He said we will have to make a concerted efforts for peace without any discrimination or divide.
The Prime Minister said it is his endeavour to restore peace in the country without shedding even a single drop of blood. He said with a view to achieving this cherished objective, the government is carrying forward the process of dialogue with full resolve and seriousness as per decision of the All Parties Conference.
He said what the government and Taliban Committees did in the shortest period of one month despite various odds could not be done during the last many years.
The Prime Minister underlined that parties within the Parliament and the outside will have to support the serious efforts for peace. He said there is all the more need for more unity and harmony as we are entering into a decisive phase of the dialogue.
The Interior Minister briefed the PTI leadership about second phase of the dialogue process. He held out an assurance that during this phase too, PTI and other parties would be taken into confidence.
