KARACHI: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a suspected member of Al-Qaeda after a shootout in Karachi.
According to DSP Zahid Hussain, police raided a house on the basis of information provided by another arrested suspect, Muhammad Azam.
After an exchange of fire, police arrested Mahmood Azam Qasmi and recovered arms and hand grenades.
The police said that three suspects, Riaz alias Razja, Talat and Farrukh, managed to flee.
Police handed over Qasmi to CID for interrogations.
