ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that the United States does not want peace in Pakistan, adding that the US is backing the organisations which are against Pakistan.
“US does not want peace in Pakistan until they withdraw their forces from Afghanistan,” Khan said.
Speaking to reporters at Islamabad airport Imran Khan a full-scale operation in North Waziristan Agency is not in the interest of Pakistan. “A full-scale operation would have resulted in more destruction and the death of innocent people.”
“Military operation in North Waziristan was imminent, but Thank God Pakistan escaped it, it would have spawned a way of terrorism across the country…. So I congratulate the government for this success,” Khan said.
He said if the operation was conducted it would have been resulted in increasing the terrorism and more destruction in country.
He said a ceasefire had been announced and action should be taken against those groups which violate it.
Imran Khan condemned terrorist attack on district courts in Islamabad, and urged the government not to abandon peace efforts.
Khan said many forces are bent upon sabotaging peace efforts and the government-Taliban ceasefire, but the rulers must not abandon their efforts for a complete restoration of peace.
He also called on the government to identify those behind anti-state conspiracies, adding that enemies of Pakistan were sheltering those behind attacks such as the one carried out in Islamabad on Monday.
He said that the enemies of the country do not want peace in Pakistan, adding that the army, Taliban and government should isolate the people involved in terrorism.
He said US is behind unrest in Pakistan, adding that when the peace talks were it killed Hakimullah Mehsood in drone strike. He said America killed Nek Muhammad and Waliur Rehman in drone strikes.
