KARACHI: The Sindh’s Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Friday has stated his party Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) supports military operation in North Waziristan Agency against militants’ tyranny.
Talking to media outside Sindh Assembly, Sharjeel Inam said terrorists have become a menace for the country, adding that action should be taken against them. He said the entire nation is with the army and the Pakistan air force.
He said Karachi police have good coordination with the Rangers and that reshuffle in police would be injustice.
Sharjeel Memon said Pakistan Peoples Party and Sindh Government fully support the federal government to deal with terrorists. He said innocent people are being targeted by terrorists.
He said criminal elements in any part of the province will be dealt strictly. Sharjeel Memon lauded the services of the Sindh Police, saying it did a great job in maintaining law and order of Karachi.
He appreciated the role of the police as it foiled a terror plot, seizing an explosive filled truck from Mauripur area of the city this morning.
The minister said that the changes in the police department are possible but not in the case of Karachi.
Commenting over PML-F’s joining the Sindh government; Memon said he did not know about it.
Sharjeel Memon said whenever date is announced by the Election Commission‚ the Sindh government will hold local bodies elections in the province.
Responding to a call attention notice in Sindh Assembly‚ he said the provincial government is ready to hold local bodies elections as it strongly believes in devolution of power to the grass root level.
