Islamabad: The special court on Tuesday has failed to indict former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in high treason case as his counsels raised finger on the court’s authority to hear the case.
A three-member bench was hearing the case headed by Justice Faisal Arab.
The special court hearing treason case against Musharraf will decide to charge-sheet him on February 21.
Musharraf arrived at the special court for the first time to face charges in a treason with a heavily protected cavalcade at the National Library in Islamabad.
He was driven to the court in a long motorcade from the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) Rawalpindi amidst tight security of over 1,200 security personnel deployed along the route.
His 17-vehicle cavalcade included a bullet-proof car, pilot vehicles and an ambulance. Over 400 personnel were also deployed at the court premises.
The former general has been in Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), a military hospital since falling ill with heart trouble while travelling to court on January 2.
