LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), chief Imran Khan has claimed that US wants military action in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) and pro-US political parties are preparing its stage for another bloodbath in the tribal belt.
Imran Khan has said that peace talks with Taliban should be given a full chance for durable peace in the country, adding that government and Taliban should immediately announce serious ceasefire.
The PTI chief added the US wants military action in North Waziristan Agency and pro-US political parties are demanding action against Taliban.
He said if the talks are failed then the option of operation could be used and if military option is failed then what will happen.
Khan clarified that if the military operation is carried out after the failure of dialogues then the whole nation would back it beside the fact that the chances of the success are only five percent.
Talking to media after visiting the centre of disabled children, the PTI chief asked the PPP, ANP and MQM leadership “Who stopped you from launching a military operation in last five years?” Khan promised providing quality education to the children in KPK.
“Anti-state elements do not want peace to prevail in country”, he added. Imran Khan said that a ceasefire agreement between the government and the Taliban should be made as early as possible.
Imran Khan said peace talks should be given a full chance to restore peace in the country, adding that the option of military operation was always at hand.
The PTI chief also said that there were few groups within Taliban who did not want peace in Pakistan, adding that anti-state elements were also active against peace talks. He said that the majority of the Taliban groups want to hold dialogues.
He said that those not intending to hold dialogues with Pakistani government should be isolated. He said Taliban accept Pakistani constitution and are ready to hold dialogues, adding that the annoyed Baloch people wants separate country and even did not acknowledge the constitution of country.
He said that the pro-US parties demand dialogue with Baloch people and demand action against Taliban.
Condemning the recent blasts, Imran Khan said Taliban should be given the responsibility of nabbing those involved in terrorist attacks.
Imran Khan reiterated that Najam Sethi was given chairmanship after he planted 35 ‘punctures’.
Referring to the protest of PPP and other political parties in Senate against his statements, Imran Khan questioned as to why ANP and PPP never resorted to operation during their reign? He said these parties are terming the dialogue process as failed prior to its start.
Imran Khan said that every effort should be made for the success of peace dialogue. He said anti-Pakistan elements are active to sabotage the dialogue process.
