ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, will take charge of top-most post of the country as Acting President of Pakistan for three days from February 18 following absence of Chairman Senate and President Mamnoon Hussain.
President Mamnoon Hussain is scheduled to leave for China on February 18 for an official three-day visit till February 21 while the Chairman Senate Nayyar Hussain Bukhari will be on two-day visit to Iran till February 20.
According to the Pakistani Constitution, Chairman Senate is the nominated person for assuming the post of President over his absence but the NA’s Speaker has been selected to perform duties on the post as current Chairman Senate has also been scheduled for an international visit at the time.
