LAHORE: Former chairperson of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf, on Sunday has claimed to receive direct threats from India over challenging Big 3; as well as alleged the Big 3 formula was produced by India.
Zaka Ashraf, the ousted chairperson following orders of PCB’s Patron In-chief and the country’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, was talking to Pakistani media in Lahore today to details the International Cricket Council (ICC)’s session in Singapore.
Zaka Ashraf said that the PCB authorities have contacted all permanent members of ICC during its high-level session for discussing the ‘Big 3 formula’ in order to uncover its severe consequences.
Afterwards, Pakistan presented strong stance against the monarchy of Big 3 in ICC as on the time the polling process was equalise with 5/5 votes but India termed Pakistan’s as to rock the boat, Ashraf said.
He said that ICC collects 1.5 billion US dollars annually on organising an international event; which have to be distributed amongst all member countries equally but India wished to grab major part of the funds as it prefers money over cricket.
The PCB’s ousted official told the media various countries that supported the Pakistani stance in ICC have changed their side when India pressed weaker countries.
Ashraf said that he tried to contact PM Nawaz Sharif for his guidance over the matter but got no reply due to his busy schedule; however, he presented strict stance after consulting PCB’s governing body.
Zaka Ashraf claimed that Pakistan is not left alone over opposing the Big 3 but by his removal from the chairmanship post as ICC has policy for placing cricket out of political reach.
The ex-chairman added that his matter is in court and he will accept any legal decision whether it comes in favour or against.
