ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif claimed the government and armed forces are on one page regarding peace dialogue with Taliban and there is no disagreement over the issue between the two institutions.
The PM said that government started talks with Taliban with the sole intention of bringing peace to the country and all terrorism related activities shall stop during the process while warning that if such activities do not stop, the government will be forced to take necessary action.
Commenting on the Saudi Prince’s visit, he trashed all rumours of the visit’s connection with the former dictator Pervez Musharraf’s treason case and said that Saudi King Abdullah cannot travel abroad due to his health, that is why he sent his heir-apparent to Pakistan to strengthen ties.
The PM was talking to media on his way back to Pakistan after visiting Turkey and repeated his government’s aim to stop all cross border infiltration while informing the media that such complaints from Afghanistan are few and will be dealt accordingly.
It is worthy to note that Tehreek-i-Taliban spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid blamed government for killing their men in the garb of peace talks and ceasefire and accused that government and armed forces have different views regarding the process.
