Karachi: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Monday has moved in the Sindh High Court against Additional Inspector General, Shahid Hayat and other police officers for ‘unlawful’ arrest of the party worker, Fahad Aziz.
Dr. Farooq Sattar, senior leader of the MQM, filed a petition in the court, stated that the worker was arrested over baseless charges.
He requested the court in the plea that it should declare the action by the police ‘unlawful’ and ‘unconstitutional’.
An FIR must be registered against AIG, Shahid Hayat, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Pir Mohammad Shah and the SHO Shah Faisal police station for their involvement in the arrest.
The request further added that medical board should be formed to inspect the health situation of the worker.
Sattar told the media that these kinds of unlawful actions by the security agencies should be stopped.
