LAHORE: Renowned columnist and writer Orya Maqbool Jan opines that whoever has seen the Taliban’s decree (fatwa) against media can sense that the document is well-researched and up to the mark.
He said that even if the government had tried to bring such decree it would have cost the state a lot but Taliban are so dedicated towards their task that they brought this document with all the proofs in no time.
Speaking at a talkshow, he revealed that even poets like Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Sajjad Zaheer wanted a non-democratic ‘communist’ revolution in Pakistan, and the only difference between them and Taliban is that of Ideology.
He expressed fear that if you start a military operation in Waziristan, cities like Karachi and Lahore will bear the brunt of it as the internally displaced persons of the area are every where in the big metropolitan cities and they will surely take revenge of their civilian killings.
It must be noted that Mr. Orya ,called ‘Taliban aplolgist’ by his enemies, once showed a rare document as a proof that Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah wanted an Islamic Pakistan.
