KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Rabita Committee has said that Pervez Musharraf alone cannot be tried for treason under article 6 of the constitution as the retired General was not alone in imposition of November 3, 2007 emergency.
Meanwhile, Musharraf’s lawyer , Ahmed Raza Kasuri thanked MQM and its leader Altaf Hussain for standing by the General in these testing times.
Talking to journalist after leading the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) delegation to Nine Zero (90), Ahmed Raza Kasuri said that the former president knew that if he returns to Pakistan, he will have to face thousands of fake cases but still he showed courage and patriotism by returning to his homeland.
At this occasion, member of MQM Rabita committee, Nasreen Jalil thanked the APML delegation besides stressing on the need of practising ‘philosophy of love’ to solve all problems.
It must be noted that Retired Generel and Pakistan’s former president is facing a treason trial for violating the constitution by holding it in abeyance on November 3 2007 and amongst all political leaders, only Altaf Hussain came out in the open to support him.
