JEDDAH: The Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday have signed an agreement for hajj arrangements, allowing 143,000 Pakistanis to perform Muslims’ largest annual prayer, Hajj, for this year.
The agreement was signed by Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Yousuf and his Saudi counterpart Dr. Bandar al-Hajjar in Jeddah.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed the Hajj agreement 2014. Under the agreement 143,000 Pakistanis will perform Hajj this year.
Sardar Yousaf said Pakistani pilgrims will spend 40 days in Saudi Arabia and all arrangements will be made to provide maximum facilities to them. The approval for their numbers and other arrangements will be granted by the Federal Cabinet.
Sardar Yousaf added Pakistan’s Hajj policy will be formulated in light of the agreement with Saudi Arabia.
Officials said a final approval in this regard will be given by the federal cabinet.
