LAHORE: The politico-religious party Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan claimed that Pakistan’s traitors continuously receiving full US support as the US linked aid to the country with Shakil Afiridi’s release.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the US Congress ‘s decision linking the US aid to the country with the release of Shakil Afiridi, the doctor who helped CIA track down Al-Qaida chief Osama Bin Laden, proved beyond doubt that Pakistan’s traitors enjoyed full US backing.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said that the fake doctor who helped Washington achieve its unholy designs by launching a bogus anti- Polio campaign had done great harm to the polio campaign in the country.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the US was tightening its noose against this country and demanding lifting the visa restrictions for US officials in this country while the selfish and incompetent rulers had pledged the country with the US and the IMF simply to prolong their rule and for financial aid. He said that the IMF was a horrible trap and it would gradually destroy the country’s economy. Therefore, the sooner we got rid of that, the better.
The JI Ameer noted that there was a surge in the wave of terrorism after the discussion of talks with the Taliban had begun. This was a clear indication that the forces opposing that were had become active to sabotage the talks process. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif issued a statement on the issue after a week or so and then kept quiet. He said this casual attitude of the government was a cause of deep concern for the masses while innocent people were falling victim to terrorism every day.
Referring to the Karachi situation, he said that an operation had been going on the port city for months yet target killing and terrorism could not be controlled. The murder of a senior Police officer in Karachi had raised several question, he added. He said that the culprits held for target killing were stated to belong to a political party but no body dared to name the party.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the demon of terrorism was spreading fast all over the country and the bomb last at the Tableeghi centre, Peshawar had done heavy loss of life and property. He said those who were targeting places of worship could not be Muslims, and this was the activity of enemy agents. However, he questioned the efficiency of the secret services and agencies which failed to trace the terrorists before they struck. The foremost responsibility of the government was to protect the life and property of the masses but the rulers were busy in Lap Top and Youth loan schemes, he remarked.
The JI chief also wondered why Prime Minister was in a hurry for the privatization of major state institutions, and stressed that the matter being so important, must be discussed by the parliament and an official commission be formed to assess the gains and the losses of the privatization done in the past.
