Karachi: Police on Friday has prepared initial report of bomb attack on Chaudhry Aslam, the head of the criminal investigation department (CID) stating incompetency of motorways police was behind this tragic incident.
Aslam, who had survived numerous assassination attempts in the past, died on Thursday along with his guard and driver when a bomb hit a police convoy on Lyari Express Way in eastern Karachi.
According to the initial report, more than 100 kilo gram of explosive material, carried by suicide bomber on a pick up, was used in the attack.
The report said that the Motorways police neither have record of vehicles which entered into the Lyari Express Way nor CCTV footages showing its incompetency.
The report further said that Aslam had been attacked at the same spot five months ago and the motorways police had been directed to ensure vehicles data and installed CCTV cameras on the route.
At least 4 police personnel were killed in the attack including Chaudhry Aslam while 11 others injured.
