ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Upper House of the Parliament, Senate, has completed the century of sessions as 100th session was heading by the chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari on Friday (today).
Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari chaired the session at the Parliament House, meanwhile security measures have been tightened as senate session started.
The Senate session has been summoned by President of Pakistan by exercise of powers conferred on him by Clause 1 of Article 54 of the Constitution.
According to the constitution and rules of the senate government and opposition have chalked out the strategy for the completion of the parliamentary year of the house.
According to the strategy three sessions of the house would be summoned till March, 12, 2014. it has been decided to discus the privatization issue of various organs of the country. Current session would continue till Jan 20.
It has been unanimously decided that another session would be summoned on February 03 and would continue till February 17 and third session would be summoned on February 24 for a week only that would come to its end on last day of the parliamentary year on March 12, 2014.
Earlier the panel of presiding officers comprising three Senators was announced by the Chairman Senate. Nayyer Hussain bukhari announced the names of Senator Jahangeer Badar, Senator Muzaffar Hussain and Senator Jaffar Iqbal Gujar as members of the panel of presiding.
These members can presided over the senate session in absence of the Chairman.
