Sukkur: Opposition leader in the National Assembly and senior member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Khursheed Shah on Saturday has termed Kishanganga Dam as a matter of life and death.
Talking to media, Shah said that Pakistan has already facing huge water crisis and this was the time for the governmen to take strong version on the water issue.
His statement came just after the International Arbitration Court (IAC) verdict on Kishanganga Dam as it allowed India to construct the dam project, has ordered it to give half of the dam water to Pakistan, who has reservations over the project.
He said that the PPP government moved forward this appeal to the IAC and it was really a good sign the decision came in favor of Pakistan
Shah said that Ayub Khan, former military dictator had already given three dams to India which caused serious damage to Pakistan in terms of water.
He expressed his hopes on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that he was a Pakistani and will take the decisions according to the desires of Pakistanis.
