ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Assembly, the lower house, on Monday adopted a resolution expressing concern over the execution of Jamaat-i-Islami Bangladesh leader Abdul Quader Mollah.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, addressing in the house, said 42 years ago the country witnessed the tragedy of fall of Dhaka but unfortunately we seem to have not learnt any lesson. “Still we react in a violent manner‚ do not respect others and despite claims about democracy our attitudes are not democratic.”
Every political party including ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), except the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Awami National Party (ANP), present in the house supported the resolution moved by the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan was supported.
Makhdoom Javed Hashmi of PTI‚ Awami League leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad‚ Raza Hayat Hiraj of PML(Q) and Maulana Ameer Zaman of JUI(F) said JI leader was eliminated because of his loyalty with Pakistan.
