ISLAMABAD: Blocking all possible loopholes in the voting process, NADRA has launched electronic voting machine or Bio-metric voting machine to stop fake voting.
“The introduction will get rid of all the mess created by magnetic ink,” says National Database Registration Authority.
“Every voter has to confirm his identity before Bio-metric machine by pressing Thumb impression on the screen,” Tariq Malik, chairman of NADRA has said.
The launch, to be approved by Election Commission of Pakistan, will also be a surprising thing even for tech giants like Apple, which has launched thumb impression system in iPhone 5S after years of research.
The NADRA’s launch is also said to be bigger innovation as we compare its scale with mobile devices. The voting mechanism, if approved, would have to confirm more than 40 to 50 million people in only one day.
“If a voter fails to confirm his thumb impression, he would not be allowed to proceed to vote during polling,” Malik further said while telling the details of the new voting machine.
NADRA is the national entity for data registration of people of Pakistan having the credibility of being one of the best such systems in the world. It has recently won over $ 600 million contract of Sri Lanka beating 60 other bidders.
