ISLAMABAD: Acting President National Party (NP) Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo has threatened the federal government for quitting his party’s alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on non-recovery of the missing persons.
Bizenjo briefly met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the sidelines of 6th annual meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on Tuesday and discussed with him the pressing issue of missing persons recently taken by the Supreme Court.
The NP leader, sources said, expressed his helplessness in the recovery of missing persons, saying that his party has acquired the government in Balochistan but not powers.
He was of the view that it would be hard for him to continue being part of the ruling coalition despite non-recovery of missing persons as ordered by the apex court.
“This is a serious issue and our party will have to quit the alliance if missing persons were not recovered,” Bizenjo reportedly conveyed to PM Nawaz Sharif who agreed to discuss the matter in detail.
On Monday, the NP leader joined Nasrullah Baloch, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), at a protest camp in Islamabad.
